Ghee & Abhyanga Oil Demonstration 9:00-11:00 a.m
The Conscious Cafe
50 Church St Ellsworth
Ghee & Abhyanga Oil: Ancient Rituals for Modern Resilience.
Join Ayurvedic Health Counselor Erik Jackson and Conscious Café co-founder Jesse Steiger for an experiential dive into two of Ayurveda’s most time-honored practices: ghee-making and abhyanga (self-oil massage). In this hands-on demo, participants will witness the full alchemical transformation of butter into golden ghee — a healing fat revered for its digestive, mental, and cellular benefits. You'll learn the sacred process, its uses, and go home with your own small batch to integrate into your kitchen or self-care routine.
We’ll also explore abhyanga, the grounding practice of warm oil massage, known to calm the nervous system, support immune function, and restore a sense of inner steadiness. A short demo will walk attendees through the key Marma points and daily rhythm of this practice, with time for Q&A and reflection. Whether you're new to Ayurveda or returning to its roots, this gathering offers a chance to slow down, reconnect, and restore.
Jesse and Erik will open the doors at Conscious Cafe from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Products available for purchase and Conscious Cafe opens for lunch at 11:00 a.m. Donations for facilitators encouraged and can be made directly to facilitators/hosts on site.
Free Your Body- Free Your Mind- An Ecstatic dance experience with Liz Jezorski. 11:30-12:30

Ecstatic dance is a liberating, free-form movement practice where participants let go of choreography, judgment, and even words-allowing the body to lead the way through rhythm and emotion. It’s not about performing or impressing; it’s about expressing and releasing.
Liz from Wild Embodiment will be offering a one free open workshop as part of Freedom & Justice Summit on Saturday Nov 8th from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Steamy Buddha Yoga, donations are encouraged and can be made directly to the facilitator/host.
Space is limited for this workshop, message us if you are interested in reserving a spot for this free one-hour open session; and meet Liz and learn how to book directly with her for future workshops!

Lynn Karlin graduated from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. She has an impressive list of employees and clients over her long careerphotographing gardens, food and interiors for international magazines and book companies. Her move to a farm in Harborside after leaving New York City in 1983 took her life in a new direction. Sole photographer of three award-winning books, 20 years ago she added fine art photography to the mix. Her photographs of vegetables, fruit, and flowers are a natural progression. They are about the obvious but often overlooked beauty of the harvest. Karlin’s still lifes have appeared in numerous write-ups from the San Francisco Chronicle to The New York Times and are exhibited in galleries from Paris to New York, and at hotels, restaurants and corporate headquarters worldwide.

Barbaria Maria at the conscious cafe
At the Conscious Cafe, writer and visual artist Barbaria Maria’s work introduces marvelous color interplaying light and shadows using layers and dimensions of texture and depth.
BIO:
Barbaria Maria is a poet and multimedia conceptual artist. Her installation, “Soul Migration” was exhibited in the Clifford gallery at Waterfall Arts. The 3-D poetry immersion soundscape, “Celestial Earth, We Are Here… but when?” was shown in the Abbot Room of the Belfast Free Library and at the Versant Power Astronomy Center and Jordan Planetarium at the University of Maine in Orono. Celestial Earth was recently choreographed by Shana Bloomstein and performed in Belfast as part of the 18th Annual Women’s Works Evening of Contemporary Dance, “Celestial Bodies.” Visual images are Barbaria’s first language. Painting has become a way to sometimes step away from words.
Comment on Art & Freedom:
Art, in any medium, equals internal space. Internal space is the initial foundation for freedom. Art, in any medium, equals internal space. Internal space is the foundation for freedom. Sometimes Art is the one shelter, the one freedom.
